MEDICAL FITNESS IN WORKERS WITH PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS

Introduction Mental health disorders are among the most burdensome concerns in world; it affects more than 970 million people 2019. These deteriorate all aspects of life, especially professional field, impacting mainly physical capability, daily functioning, and productivity working-age population. Objectives To study socio-professional medical characteristics workers with psychiatric to assess repercussions these pathologies on work ability. Methods A descriptive retrospective included files who were referred occupational medicine department at Charles Nicolle Hospital for a opinion fitness during period from January 1, 2014, December 31, 2020. Results The average age 224 cases collected was 41.74± [25-60 years] sex ratio 0.67. seniority 13.4 years±8.27 years. common sectors (38.1%) communication (20.2%). patients suffering either an anxiety-depressive disorder (36.6%) or psychosis (11.6%). 21 bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, two chronic hallucinatory 3 delusional psychosis. Forty-three fit continue working, 133 restrictions twenty-six unfitted work. reclassification recommended 37 positions lower mental load. One employee advanced schizophrenia offered early retirement grounds disability. Permanent unfitness pronounced 11.6% cases. Conclusions impact cognitive abilities can be so significant as result temporary permanent However, decision same pathology may vary one individual another workstation another.
